Once Then
When connecting the dots for your young ones, it’s helpful to lay out the order of things. Use these two simple words to help them understand that one thing must be done before another.
Examples:
Once you’ve cleared the table, then you can go play.
Once you’ve written the thank you note, then we can read the book you want to read.
Once you’ve finished your homework, then you can go outside.
It may sound simple, but it helps their brains to organize around getting things done, helps them figure out how to move from here to there, to get to the thing they want to do the most.
