Peek-A-Boo
The first five years are crucial in our kids’ brain development, The brain is growing faster in these years than at any other time in life.
It’s our job to connect, talk and play with our children during these times while so many neuropathways are developing to build and strengthen our relationships and increase our children’s mental health.
Interactions matter. Play copycat with your baby. You do something, then they do it. Over and over.
Play the naming game with them. This is where you point to things, including them and you, and name them.
And, of course, play peek-a-boo, which builds memory and trust.
Kids are hard-wired to seek out meaningful connections. By interacting and playing with them, you’re building connection.
Do this early and often to prepare them to try new things and explore the world courageously, as kids are meant to.
