Take a Moment
I always suggest having dinner together as a family as much as possible. On top of this, when you all come together to do so, take a moment before diving in.
In this moment, acknowledge all those who helped bring that food to your table - the farmers, those who picked the fruits, the grocers, the butcher, the person who cooked that evening, the kids who helped, you get the idea.
You can list who you can think of. Or simply all take a moment of silence. Of gratitude. You could play a singing bowl sound and everyone listen for the end of the tone, to come into the present moment.
I know everyone will be hungry (maybe even declare they’re starving), but with your lead, they can learn to spare a moment to pause in thanks.
We all could use slowing down.
See how this practice shifts the energy in your home, around mealtime. And honor coming together, eating together as special. Because it truly is.
