Respect

Teaching your child to be respectful may lead them to be respectful to the wrong person. That respect might put them in ‘danger’ when they feel they have to show respect to every adult in their lives. Even the ones that don’t deserve it.

Instead, let them give respect to adults who have shown them they are deserving of respect. That they have the child’s best interest in mind and also shows the utmost respect to the child.

Teach them this young, that respect is not given because of age, power or status but it is earned by love, esteem and honor.
