Delight

When your child walks into the room, delight in seeing them. This encompasses their whole being. And the messaging runs deep.

This practice allows your children to feel like they have a secure base of belonging, that they’re loved and delighted simply for their presence.

Say things like:

“I love my time with you.”

“I’m so glad you’re here.”

This takes the focus off of what they do, off of praise and approval, and instead reinforces your true, unconditional love and support of t-h-e-m for simply being who they are.
