Choices

Offering your children choices is an easy way to empower them. Of course, make sure you are okay with any of the choices chosen. And remember to only offer them two or three. Once you introduce more, it quickly becomes overwhelming.

Examples:

You have to have a protein, but you can choose which - chicken, salmon or yogurt?

We’re going to have our pictures taken, which of these two dresses would you like to wear?

I won’t buy that toy today. Here are your choices, though: spend your allowance on it, save up for it or put it on your birthday wish list.

Muddy boots can’t come in. You choose - either take them off or let me grab your hat for you.
