Apology Habits

Notice your apology habits.

Do you incessantly offer sorrys to strangers throughout the day, to, say, anyone who may need to get by you?

Do you withhold sorrys when you’re embarrassed by your mistake?

We pass down to our kiddos our own apology habits, if and until we bring consciousness to them. Notice how you relate to apologies. How well you do them. How often. And what the feelings are that accompany them.

You want your children to grow up able to own their mistakes easily, to not be sorry for things they can’t control and to offer and accept apologies graciously.

So, pay attention and watch - how you relate to apologizing yourself. Bringing awareness there is the start!
