Remember Yourself

We’re so accustomed to putting our children’s needs ahead of our own, that often this becomes an unconscious habit. When our young ones are babies and their survival depends on our attention, it’s one thing. However, many parents (especially mothers) tend to fall into a practice of this that goes far beyond what is healthy.

If you’re exhausted and unsure anymore what you even want to do, what you like to do, what your opinion is, you’re likely wiped out from simply not considering yourself.

It’s then very important to begin asking yourself, at least once a day, ‘What do I want?” Or, “What do I feel?”

Checking in with yourself may feel foreign; you may not even remember how. Stay with it. Keep up the practice.

You can only be the best parent you can be by remembering how to check in with yourself and take care of yourself.
