Go Ahead and Disagree

There seems to be an age-old idea that we, as parents, aren’t supposed to disagree with one another, in front of our children. I venture to say this is not in their best interest or in ours.

Rather, it is important for us to demonstrate how to disagree with others. Life is full of disagreements. Your children will come into conflict with others because they disagree as littles, as big kids and as adults, too.

Therefore, they need to see, hear and feel how this happens in a healthy way. Show them. Model for them. And assure them how normal and healthy it can be.
