Take a Spin
With a regulated nervous system, you’re able to make wise decisions (from your pre-frontal cortex). This is where we want to parent from.
One of the best ways to regulate is to get out under the sky and move your body.
If you’re feeling off, triggered or distracted, take a walk. It’s not about the distance; it’s just a short spin around the block.
It’s about getting outside, changing the scenery and the energy. It’s about coming into the present moment and noticing your senses - what do you see, hear, smell etc as you walk?
Take your kiddo, or go alone.
Just know when you take your child along, they’re offered the same benefits as you. It’ll help shift their energy and regulate them as well, so they, too, can come into the present and make good decisions.
