Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a compassionate act that can be challenging when we’re really IN it, and having all kinds of strong emotions.
It’s especially difficult for us somehow though to forgive ourselves.
As a parent, this is a wise practice. Every night, when you lie down to sleep, take a second and forgive yourself.
For all you don’t know.
For all the times that day you judged yourself or judged your child, for when you weren’t as present as you wanted to be.
For all of it - the mess, the attitude, the trying too hard or moving too fast. But mostly, for being too hard on yourself.
This kind of compassion will be passed down. Treat yourself with the tenderness you want to bring to your children. And practice forgiveness.
