Let Them Choose
When you’re able to spend quality time as a family, remember to incorporate your children’s ideas into the mix.
Parents today often have a vision of what they want to do or how they want that time to ‘look’. Whenever we’re led by an agenda like this, we’re already starting out not as present as we can be.
Ask your kiddo what they’d like to do. How they’d like to spend a few hours together and see what they come up with.
Really listen where their mind goes. Try hard not to judge their ideas or react. Instead, neutrally take it in. I bet it’ll be insight into what they need more of from you - is it downtime together, play, learning, quiet, fun, challenge?
