Listening Without Interruptions

This tool is one that needs to be practiced over and over again. Listening without interruption means you’re looking at your child in their eyes, watching their hands move as they speak, and really listening, not just hearing.

This feels almost impossible, with the way we all multi-task and how fast we’re moving. I don’t mean every single time your child speaks, you need to stop doing the dishes and tune in. I just mean once a day, once a week - please, do!

Do stop whatever else you’re doing, stop moving, look directly at them and really listen to what they're saying and how. What their energy is around their story. See them as new.

It’ll show them your genuine desire to connect. And teach them, one important way how.
